After touring the Hal Saflieni Hypogeum, we walked to the Three Cities.
We stopped for a typical Maltese snack at Ta' Guzi, a take-away pastizzeria. It's located at Pjazza a de Paula, 36. Pastizzeria can be found all over Malta.

Pastizzi are small flaky pastries (phyllo-like), which are filled with ricotta cheese or peas. They are of Arabic origin. Pastizzi are inexpensive--€0.40 and are a good snack. I liked the peas better--the curry flavor found in the pea variety made it more tasty.

The Paola Parish Church was nearby.

You'll find Maltese balconies all over the island. The balconies are likely of North African origin. They allow those inside to see out without being seen.

Some of the balconies are very ornate.
