Day 17--Adelaide

On Day 17, our ship arrived in Adelaide at 8 am. We grabbed a quick breakfast in the Bistro Cafe before disembarking.

We took Uber to Waterfall Gully. The drive was 45 minutes and A$68. We walked through the gully to Mt. Lofty, passing several waterfalls. This was a 4.9 mile, 1,564 feet climb but it was all on a concrete trail. It took about 1 3/4 hours. There is a visitor center, souvenir shop and the Summit Restaurant & Cafe at the summit.

From the summit, we descended to the Cleland Wildlife Park, a 30-minute walk. The Cleland Wildlife Park is open 9:30am-5pm. Admission is A$32.50. It's a nice park and worth the admission. You'll get up close and personal with kangaroos, wallabies and koalas. There are also echidnas, wombats, emus and Tasmanian Devils,

At the Cleland Wildlife Park, there was free WiFi. We booked an Uber ride to Parliament Square--A$38. We did a walking tour of central Adelaide, visiting the Railway Station, Old Parliament House, Parliament House, South African War Memorial, National War Memorial, State Library of South Australia (we went inside to see the Mortlock Chamber--the original library) and finished at the Rundle Mall to see the "pigs." The Rundle Mall was the first pedestrian street mall in Adelaide. We took the Adelaide Rail back to the Outer Harbor Railway Station, a short walk back to the ship--A$5.90.

The ship departed Adelaide at 7pm. We had dinner in the Grand Dining Room: Chilled Shrimp, Lobster Bisque, Pan Fried Striped Bass, Steak au Poivre and Souffle of the Day.
