To get from Changi to downtown, you can take a taxi, use a ride share, take a bus or take the MRT. I found the MRT to be the easiest. The MRT station is located in the lower level of Terminal 2, where international flights arrive. Purchase a ticket for or use a credit card with a chip and tap in. We took the East-West line 1 stop to Expo then transferred to the Downtown Line. 30 minutes later, we arrived at Fort Canning, which was a 4 minute walk from our hotel. Exiting the MRT, we tapped our card again so the right amount is deducted.
The MRT is clean, efficient and comes frequently. Cost was SGD2.50 ($1.86) It sure beat SGD40 ($29.70) for a taxi ride.
