Chalkboard is located at 29 North Street in Healdsburg. They offered a 4-course dinner for $35 during Restaurant Week.
Greet: Pork Belly Biscuit. Biscuit was crumbly but it was a tasty bite with pork belly, arugula, pickle and sriracha aioli.
First Course: Chalk Hill Estate Greens with Citronette Dressing. The greens were varied, the dressing was good and the pecorino cheese added a nice flavor. Fried quinoa, sesame seeds and hemp hearts added a crunch but not much more.
Second Course: Seasonal Selection of House-Made Pasta. There was a choice of Porcini Gigli (wild mushrooms, garlic cream and pecorino romano), Old Bay Strozapretti (gulf shrimp, garlic, preserved lemon and spinach) and Cocoa Trifoglio (duck confit, cream, brandy, hazelnut praline).
The Porcini Gigli had great flavor and it was a rich sauce. It was definitely better than the Old Bay Strozapretti. The dish was too salty. The gulf shrimp were small.
Dessert: Chocolate Flourless Cake with Black Cherry Ice Cream. The cake was delicious but it was a tiny sliver.
