From Roswell, take US 380 west to Hondo. Turn right on Billy the Kid Trail. After 10 miles, you'll reach Lincoln, an unincorporated village where Billy the Kid had his last jailbreak. It sits in the Bonito Valley, at an elevation of nearly 6000.

Lincoln is one of the best preserved old west towns and many historic buildings lie along a one-mile stretch of US 380.

The Torreon is a rock fort tower where settlers hid during Indian raids.
