Hyatt Regency Maui Resort & Spa

The Hyatt Regency Maui Resort & Spa is located in Ka'anapli, on the western side of the island. There are 3 towers with 810 rooms situated on 40 acres.

We were in the Lahaina Tower, Room 956. It was on the southern end of the resort, near the meeting room facilities.

Balcony

with a partial ocean view.

Sitting on the balcony, we were able to see the Drums of the Pacific Luau, which was held most nights.

The room was large and the bed comfortable.

There was a safe in the room and robes were provided.

Mini fridge, coffee maker and hot water pot

The bathroom was large and had 2 sinks.

On arrival, we were presented with leis--flower for me and shell for my husband.

In addition to a spa, the resort has a fitness center with ocean views.

The beach at the Hyatt Regency was small.

Sculpture near the beach.

Napili Tower on the northern edge of the resort. This was closer to the pools.

One of 6 pool areas.

Grotto with a bar.

Breakfast was served in the Swan Court.

It had a nice waterfall view and on occasion, swans will swim by. Breakfast can get quite busy when there is a conference on-site. If it's too crowded, you can take your breakfast to go. If you choose to do that, don't wait in line. At the foot of the stairs, go to the wait station on the right, next to the buffet. You'll be given a voucher to present to the buffet server. 15% gratuity is added to all To-Go orders.

Breakfast was pretty good with fruit, eggs, bacon, sausage and baked goods. There were also specialty items.

Believe it or not, the Hyatt Regency has a colony of African black-footed penguins. There is a presentation every morning about the penguins.

Exotic birds

Koi pond

There was even a tiny pineapple grove.

The resort uses a keyless system. You're given a wristband, which acts as your room key and charge system.

There were many resort activities, including lei-making, bracelet-making, hula lessons, ukulele lessons, meditation, yoga and fitness classes. There was no fee for the classes but you do need to sign up.
