Hotel Gobernador

In Durango, we stayed at the Hotel Gobernador. It's located at Ave 20 Noviembre, 257. It's conveniently located in the downtown area.


1. Location:

-walking distance to sights: yes

-safety: yes

-restaurants nearby: yes

-there was a large grocery store next door


2. Transportation:

-we took a taxi from the airport--MX300 ($15)

-parking: free onsite lot


3. Room:

-size: 269 sf for executive king room

-noise level: quiet

-bed: comfortable

-bathroom:

-shower pressure: good. Shower design not good and water sprayed all over floor.

-amenities: slippers, bathrobe: no

-amenities:

-safe: yes but it is not bolted down

-fridge: no

-electric tea kettle: no

-coffee maker: no

-free bottled water: yes. There is also a water cooler in the gym that dispensed cold water.

-pool

-Starbucks on site

-onsite restaurant La Hacienda--good but expensive by Mexico standards. There is also a cafe that serves breakfast and lunch.

-English channels: yes--CNN


4. Hotel:

-elevator: no. Hotel is 2 story.

-WiFi: strong


5. Breakfast:

-included: not included



The hotel was a previous prison.

View from our Executive King room overlooked the pool through the bushes. Not sure how much better this is than a Standard King.
