After the Big Texan, we toured Amarillo. We got on Business 40, old Route 66.
You'll find old motels, including the Palo Duro Motel.

Continue west on Route 66 and turn left on N. Taylor Street. At SW 6th Avenue, you'll find the Heart of Amarillo sculpture.

Turn right on SW 6th Avenue and you'll find the Circus Room, the oldest continuous bar on Route 66.

Continue on SW 6th to find the Dennis the Price Menace liquor store.

The historic Route 66 District in the San Jacinto neighborhood is full of antique stores, galleries and cafes. It's west of downtown.

Leaving town on the west, you'll find a giant water tower.
