Albuquerque, Part 2

After lunch at Cocina Azul, we continued our tour of Albuquerque.

One of 12 Madonna of the Trail statue is located at Marble & 4th in Albuquerque. The statues are dedicated to the spirit of pioneer women in the United States.

At 423 Central, you'll find the KiMo Theater, built in the Pueblo Deco style. It was built in 1927 and has Indian motifs and cow skulls, You may take a self guided tour of the interior.

Continuing east on Central Avenue, there are 17 miles of vintage neon, including the Frontier Restaurant.

The Motel Hiway House boasts "Sleep Is Our Business."

The De Anza Motor Lodge.

The Hiland Theatre and Shopping Center dates to 1952.

The Tewa Lodge

At May Cafe, you'll find a giant lumberjack. Kind of odd for a Vietnamese Restaurant but they wanted to maintain the Route 66 tradition.

Nearby is a Costco, where we found gas for $1.74/gallon. The Costco is next to the National Museum of Nuclear Science & History.
