Al's Italian Beef, Chicago

When in Chicago, you have to try Italian Beef. Al's, located at 548 N. Wells Street, is supposed to have one of the best.

We ordered Jumbo Beef--$15.89 and added Provolone Cheese, Hot Giardiniera and Sweet Peppers for $0.75 each. It had good beef flavor, but I couldn't taste Provolone. I preferred the Sweet Peppers to the Giardiniera. Worth a stop to have.

Chili cheese fries--$6.89. The fries were not as crispy as I would have liked but the chili was good. I'm not sure the Velveeta cheese was necessary. I probably would pass next time.
